With 50 years of experience the company designs and manufactures all kinds of high-tech dental equipment, dental care units and personalized and tailor-made dental solutions. All of Finndents products are design and produced in Finland.

Mechanical Engineer for Change Management

The position:
At Finndent, we turn ideas into dental innovations, and we focus both on making a visit to the dentist as pleasant as possible for the patients, and on the equipment working flawlessly for the dental professionals.  
The Development Team within Finndent is constantly innovating, improving, testing, designing, updating, building new features and building new functions.
The Change Manager specializes in understanding product requirements and controls the processes for the proper design and development of products. This person is a mechanical engineer who is the person responsible for maintaining a current 3D model and version history in the technical file of the product. This person is the heart of everything the Development Team is doing. Every little change or update needs to be monitored in the Product backlog, and the Product backlog needs to be up to date. Everyday.  

Important tasks of the Mechanical Engineer include:
- To be the gatekeeper for all changes made to products, working directly with the head product designer.
- Plan product releases including hardware, software and mechanics using collected feedback from clients, industry, and internal sources.
- Documentation of every change or improvement done by the development team  
- Ensuring that the Product Backlog is visible, transparent, and clear to all
- Ensuring the Development Team understands items in the Product Backlog to the level needed
- Own and actively update and control the master product CAD files.
- Work with internal engineers and external contractors and sub-suppliers to ensure the master product files are current.
- Work with regulatory-quality to ensure development work results in a technical file according to MDR 2017/745
- Ensure and actively follow change control processes, including actively preparing drawings for manufacture, adding critical to quality points, writing assembly instructions, training production, working with feedback to continually improve the product for clients and for manufacture.
- Implement a cloud-based Product Lifecycle Management system with support from the Development Team.
- Develop and implement efficient systems for incorporating post-market feedback in to the design and change process.

We are looking for:

We are looking for someone who considers himself or herself a specialist, someone who wants things to be immaculately in order, wants to organize, loves taking care of details, is fast, focused and meticulous. You update and file everything, you care for the products and are happy to take part hands on, work together with the Development Team and contribute with ideas and improvements.

We also wish that you:

- Have a technical degree in mechanical engineering or similar and 4-6 years of relevant work experience in a product design and development environment
- Are fluent in English, preferably also in Finnish, other language skills are seen as a merit
- Have a strong knowledge of different production methods and different materials’ properties
- Have a general understanding of design and development best practices
- Have a good understanding of 3D-printing
- Have a good knowledge of PTC Creo, Autocad and CadKey
- Have experience with Product Lifecycle Management systems
